Dosage Chart – Basic Guidelines:

We generally recommend between 0.25 mg (Regular Dose) to 0.5 mg (Strong Dose) per every 1 lb of bodyweight.

  • Example 1: I weigh 140 lbs and I want to take a Regular Dose, I would multiply my weight by 0.25 to get 35mg  (140 X 0.25 = 35).
  • Example 2: I weigh 120 lbs and want to take a Strong Dose, I would multiply my weight by 0.5 to get 60mg  (120 lbs X 0.5 = 60mg).

REGULAR Dose: Daily health and wellness, promote immune function, limit environmental hypersensitivities, minor skin irritations, appetite regulator, nervousness & tension, gut function, promote joint mobility, soreness, and minor discomfort.

STRONG Dose: If you ever feel that a regular dose is inadequate to meet your needs, double the frequency or dosage as needed.

Dosing Frequency: For the most effective benefits, apply every 8 hours or as needed. For all other uses give once to twice a day.

You’ve probably heard some buzz surrounding hemp lately, and you certainly have a lot of questions. One important question is how are you supposed to know your hemp

dosage when there isn’t always a hemp dosage chart available?

As hemp is continuously studied and touted as a compound with so many potential wellness benefits, experts are uncovering more ways to use it, and companies like ours are creating more commodities. To keep up with the ever-expanding list of products, we wanted to create a simple guide to help you find your correct dosage amount.

Also, since hemp is not FDA approved, there is no “official” hemp dosage chart. That’s why we created one of our own that has been thoroughly examined, tested, and reviewed for maximum beneficial efficacy. If you’re unsure about hemp dosing, read below for our recommendations.

Dosage is dependent on body weight. Please choose your product according to your weight:

Dosage Chart – Additional Dosage Information

Dosing is personal to every consumer. Remember, these are general guidelines, not verified medical recommendations. Factors including how much you’ve eaten, drank, slept, and the form of hemp you consume will all affect your hemp experience. Some people do fine with smaller amounts while others take stronger doses than what we have listed.

Can You Overdose or Take Too Much?

No. While it’s possible that taking more than your recommended dose of hemp may cause you to experience unwanted side effects (such as excessive drowsiness or an upset stomach), it is impossible to overdose.

While hemp is generally well-tolerated, taking it or more than a recommended dose may induce mild side effects, such as:

  • Drowsiness
  • Upset stomach
  • Change in appetite
  • Change in mood

Typically, side effects such as these disappear once the consumer’s body has adjusted to its dosage.

Is Hemp Dosage the Same for All Products?

Every hemp product is different. The amount of hemp, the method of consumption, the time it needs to take effect, and how long they last are all subjective from product to product and person to person.

The rule of thumb here is that the longer it takes for effects to be felt, the longer they will last. For example, smoking hemp will give you the desired effects almost immediately, but they won’t last very long. On the other hand, gummies take a while to kick in, but their effects are long-lasting.

Inhalation

Inhaling hemp gives consumers the quickest results. That is because when you inhale hemp, it skips the digestive process involved with gummies, and goes straight from the lungs into the bloodstream.

For each of these products, you’ll only need what seems like a minimal amount.

Different strains of or hemp will contain different levels of hemp, so be sure to read the labels carefully to understand how strong of a product you’re inhaling.

Gummies

Gummies take longer to kick in, but their effects tend to stick around much longer than methods of inhalation. This all ties into something called first-pass metabolism. In this process, hemp gummies must pass through the gastrointestinal tract. This causes the cannabinoid to lose some potency before reaching your bloodstream.

Sublingual

Sublingual hemp use also skips the digestion process, which means this method delivers very rapid results. Although these effects will be very powerful, they will not last very long.

Sublingual hemp use is when a consumer drops hemp oil under their tongue, and allows the liquid to soak and absorb instead of swallowing it. hemp oil is used for sublingual purposes, but hemp can also be taken sublingually.

Topicals

Topical hemp is typically applied to the skin by using creams or transdermal patches, although there are a variety of applications. Since most topicals do not enter the bloodstream they can be used repeatedly throughout the day. Once the sensation begins to dull you can simply reapply some in the area of discomfort.

Topical hemp products work pretty rapidly. Consumers can expect to feel soothing effects to start within five to 15 minutes, although, many claim they can feel it instantly.

Dosage Tip

No matter what kind of hemp you want to try, it’s always best to start small and work your way up. You can always consume more, but if you take too much right away, you may feel unwanted side effects that turn you off hemp (such as lightheadedness, nausea, drowsiness, etc.).

We always recommend using a hemp dosage chart and starting low for each new hemp product you try.

Which Hemp Product Is Right for You?

We make a wide range of hem products so that way everyone can find something that works and they enjoy. We offer sublingual, smokable, topical, and edible options.

Whether you’re new to hemp or an experienced connoisseur looking to try something new, check out our variety of products below to see what each one uniquely offers.

Hemp Capsules

Our vegan hemp capsules are only filled with two ingredients: hemp extract (the purest form of hemp) and coconut powder (a natural superfood). Hemp extract is hemp that has gone through a process to remove all other components found in the cannabis plant. While this eliminates the “entourage effect,” isolate provides an option for those who wish to avoid THC altogether and is the purest hemp on the market.

We offer a variety of 30 count bottles for low to high doses of hemp. You can purchase 10 mg capsules (300 mg per bottle), 25 mg capsules (750 mg per bottle), 50 mg capsules (1,500 mg per bottle), and 100 mg capsules (3,000 mg total).

Capsules are a conveniently pre-portioned hemp dosage option. We recommend using our hemp dosage calculator to find your recommended dosage range and start at the low end.

Vegan Hemp Gummies

Hemp gummies are a deliciously sweet, inconspicuous way to take hemp.

In addition to their high potency, our gummies are vegan, natural, and 100% organic. Available in the same dosage increments as the hemp capsules, we infuse these gummies with hemp oil (meaning they do contain 0.3% or less THC – not enough to get you high).

We love hemp gummies for many reasons, but one advantage is that they can be divided if one whole gummy is too high of a dose. If you buy the 3000 mg bottle but then find out 100 mg of hemp per gummy is too much, cut them in two and only take one half for a milder experience.

Hemp Topicals

Unlike ingestible forms of hemp (inhaling, eating, etc.) that take effect by circulating through the bloodstream, hemp topicals are designed to target the specific area where they were applied. There isn’t really a “dosage” for hemp topicals – you use as much as you feel is needed at the time.

Topical hemp products interact with cannabinoid receptors on your skin. The soothing effects of these products are localized to the areas you apply them to, meaning you won’t feel them in your whole body.

The most popular topical hemp product we carry is our hemp pain salves that can provide relief. Made with a range of essential oils and packed with 500mg or 1000mg of hemp per jar, this salve is meant for targeted relief of tension or discomfort. A small amount should help with mild aches, but it can also be used liberally without worry.

There really is a form of hemp for everybody.

Hemp Legalities

Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, it’s federally legal to grow and sell hemp and any products made from it, provided they contain 0.3% or less THC. Hemp extracted from the hemp plant, is being studied for its potential wellness benefits.

Outside of Epidiolex, which is used for seizures, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not yet approved hemp for widespread medical use. However, experts are continually discovering the potential properties of hemp that may benefit natural wellness.

Final Thoughts – Hemp Dosage Chart

The important takeaway here is that hemp dosage is different for every product, every person, every time. Using a hemp dosage calculator and starting at the low end of your dosage range is the best way to introduce yourself to a new hemp product and ensure you’ll experience its benefits.

If one form of hemp doesn’t produce your desired effects, there are so many other forms you can try. Whether you prefer good old hemp, sweet (vegan) hemp gummies, or a soothing topical hemp salve, we’ve got you covered!
